Sunday, 7 December 2008

The deep depression over southwest Bay and adjoining southeast Bay moved west-northwestwards and lay over the same area at 6:00pm Saturday. A special Met Office bulletin said it was centred about 1705 kms southwest of Chittagong port, 1630 kms southwest of Cox's Bazar port and 1620 kms southwest of Mongla port. "It is likely to intensify further and move in a west-northwesterly direction," it said. Maritime ports of Chittagong, Cox's Bazar and Mongla have been advised to hoist distant cautionary signal number one. — UNB
