Deep-sea port: Govt examining investment proposals

The government is examining the proposals of some countries to invest in the proposed deep-sea port at Sonadia Dwip, Shipping Minister Shajahan Khan told the Parliament on Tuesday. Replying to a supplementary question of Shamsul Huq Chowdhury (AL-Chittagong), he said that the Prime Minister herself is looking after the matter related with the investment proposals from different countries. Shajahan Khan mentioned that the government, in the cabinet meeting, approved the draft law in this regard to form an authority for the proposed deep seaport, according to a news agency.
