Deepening ties among Muslim nations is cornerstone of : FM

Foreign Minister Dipu Moni said Wednesday that it was a cornerstone of Bangladesh's foreign policy is to deepen the bond between the brotherly Muslim countries, reports BSS.
Addressing the 37th session of the Conference of Foreign Ministers (CFM) of OIC in the Tajik capital Dushanbe, she hailed the recent agreement between Iran, Turkey and Brazil on the nuclear fuel swap and said that Bangladesh always supported peaceful uses of nuclear energy, according to a message received in the city.
Referring to rising instances of Islam phobia in the West, she said, "We should not overreact, but engage thoroughly, systematically, persuasively showing why such actions are prejudiced and discriminatory."
She made a reference to the Cairo Declaration of human rights, adopted in 1990, and supported establishment of a human rights commission in Jeddah.
On the sidelines of the conference, Dipu Moni also met the foreign ministers of the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain and discussed issues of mutual interest and concern, the message said.
