Delay in Covid-19 test increases risk of infection in Naogaon dist

NAOGAON, June 30: Risk of coronavirus infection is increasing in the district due to unexpected delay in getting test reports.
Officials of District Health Department said the number of infected persons might be more than the current number in the district as there is significant delay in getting test reports.
It is taking a week to 12 days to get the test result which is longer than usual. Out of total 5,416 samples sent for Covid-19 test to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) from the district, reports of only 4,438 samples have been till now. The rest 978 collected samples are pending for test, they added.
The dealy in getting test reports may worsen the coronavirus situation in the district, the officials further said.
Sources said Mafiz Uddin of Bhabanipur village under Atrai upazila of the district died on June 21 last after suffering from fever and breathing complications.
