\\\'Delhi giving utmost importance to Hasina-Modi meeting\\\'

On the sidelines of the 69th UN General Assembly for which heads of state and government are gathering in New York this week, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will be holding a bilateral meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss a wide range of issues. The Indian government is giving utmost importance to Hasina-Modi meeting, to be held on Saturday (Sept 27). Speaking with journalists, Indian external affairs ministry spokesperson Syed Akberuddin acknowledged that this will be the 1st meeting between Hasina and Modi. He said that the 1st meeting between the heads of government of the 2 neighbouring countries is always significant. He said Bangladesh and India are very aware of each other’s needs. They are aware of each other’s concern and have sympathies for each other. Any meeting of the 2 country’s leaders is bound to enhance exiting cooperation. External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj is accompanying Modi. Speaking with the journalists Akberuddin further confirmed that Prime Minister Modi will be meeting his Bangladesh counterpart on Sept 27, according to a news agency.
