Democracy not for those who make remarks against Bangabandhu: Nasim

Awami League presidium member and Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim said Tuesday democracy is not meant for those who passed obnoxious remarks against Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the Liberation War, reports BSS. "Democracy is not for those who torch people to death and escalate their sufferings," the minister said this while inaugurating a voluntary blood donation camp in the city.
Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) organised the camp at the foot of 'Aparajeyo Bangla' sculpture on Dhaka University campus marking its 67th founding anniversary.
BCL president HM Badiuzzman Sohag presided over the programme, also addressed, among others, by Awami League (AL) Liberation War affairs secretary Captain (Retd) AB Tajul Islam, Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA) secretary general Prof Dr Iqbal Arsalan, former presidents of BCL Dr Mostafa Jalal Mohiuddin and Mahmud Hasan Ripon, AL central working committee member Enamul Huq Shamim, Prime Minister's personal assistant Saifuzzaman Shikhar and Dhaka University unit BCL president Mehdi Hasan. BCL general secretary Siddiqui Nazmul Alam conducted the programme.
