Dengue: 3 more die, 288 fall sick in a day

Three more dengue patients died and 288 others were hospitalised in 24 hours untill Tuesday morning, said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
With these, the total death toll from the mosquito-borne disease reached 57 and total hospitalised cases jumped to 14,509 so far this year, the DGHS said in its regular bulletin.
Among the deceased two were below 10 years and the remaining one was within 31 & 40 years.
Among the new patients, 232 were undergoing hospital treatment in Dhaka while the remaining 56 cases were reported from outside the division, according to DGHS.
Some 27 patients were hospitalised across Dhaka division excluding the capital city, 15 in Chattogram, four in Mymensingha, one in Khulna, three in Rajshahi and six in Barishal.
Currently, out of total 1,256 victims of the mosquito borne disease-1,067 patients are receiving treatment at different hospitals in Dhaka city and 189 in other regions.
In contrast, a sum of 13,196 people has been released from hospitals across the country so far this year.
The month of September till date logged 11 deaths, August 34 and July 12 deaths from the dengue fever.
