Dengue: 4 more deaths in 24hrs
No reports from almost half of hospitals due to holiday

The government on Friday reported 4 more deaths, including 2 from Dhaka in the mosquito borne dengue fever.
With this, the total casualties stood at 229, including 179 from Dhaka, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Besides, 1,503 new dengue patients were hospitalized in the last 24 hours ending this Friday at 8:00 am throughout the country. Of the total, 907 were from Dhaka.
The total dengue cases rose to 44,205. Of the total cases, 25,705 were from Dhaka, added DGHS.
A total of 8,676 people were being treated across the country in hospitals. Of them, 4,870 were from Dhaka.
Of the total admitted, 35,300 patients made recovery and returned home, and of them, 20,656 were from Dhaka.
Out of 56 DGHS listed hospitals, 24 hospitals did not provide the dengue reports as it was weekend on Friday.
The health authorities have prepared 2,500 beds for the treatment of dengue patients, he said.
Last year, 281 people died due to dengue, the highest in the history of the country.
