Dengue claims seven lives---
1,623 hospitalised in a day

Another seven people died due to dengue in 24 hours till Saturday morning as a record number of patients infected with the mosquito-borne disease got admitted to different hospitals across the country in a single day.
As many as 1,623 dengue patients were admitted to different hospitals across the country during this time as the dengue outbreak has taken an alarming turn, Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said.
In the latest daily update, the total death toll from dengue hit 100 this year, the DGHS said.
Signalling a worrisome situation, it said among the hopspitalised patients, 1,168 were admitted to several hospitals in Dhaka.
According to DGHS, a total of 19,454 dengue patients received treatment in various hospitals in the country so far since January. Among them, 13,109 were admitted to several hospitals in Dhaka.
Meanwhile, Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) has been continuing its month-long anti-dengue drives and campaign. Its mobile courts on Saturday conducted several drives and fined several houses and entities over Tk 0.98 million as they found Aedes larvae on the premises of the entities.
