Dengue kills six more in a day, 734 hospitalised

Newly six people died of dengue fever in the last 24 hours until Saturday morning, when 734 patients of the disease were also hospitalised across the country.
With the daily counts, fatalities from the mosquito-borne disease reached 89 and total number of people hospitalised in the year increased to 24,326.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) revealed the figures in its regular bulletin.
Of the latest, 468 patients were hospitalised in Dhaka city and the remaining 266 were admitted in other regions.
Currently, 2,889 people are getting treatment in hospitals, including 1,992 in Dhaka city's fifty-one hospitals.
So far 21,348 people recovered from the disease and were released from hospitals this year.
First fifteen days of the October witnessed 34 deaths whereas the entire September reported same number of fatalities showing a worsening situation.
October has so far seen 8,234 hospitalised cases while the last month witnessed 9,911 cases.
