Dense fog lingers countrywide, delays flights

Sunday, 21 December 2008

The Met office has said the dense fog currently blanketing Bangladesh will last two more days, reports bdnews24.com.
The country has been experiencing moderate-to-heavy fog for the last several days, hampering ferry communication and flights at the Zia International Airport (ZIA).
Authorities have informed that due to the dense fog, flights may be rescheduled at the Zia International Airport for two or three more days.
"The Met office has said that due to heavy fog, flight schedules will have to be altered," said Wing Commander M Sayedul Hassan Khan, director of the Zia International Airport.
"Flight operation was hampered from early hours to 10:30am Saturday."
"The fog will last two more days, because the humid air coming from a sea is resulting in heavy fog from the northern region of India to Bangladesh," said Kamrul Hossain, the Met Office meteorologist.
