Tuesday, 11 November 2014

A Dhaka court on Monday deferred until December 15 the recording of the deposition in a vandalism case filed against 147 BNP leaders and activists, including its joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, reports UNB.
Judge Tareq Mainul Islam Bhuiyan of the Speedy Trial Court-6 fixed the date anew following a time petition filed by some accused.
Some 91 BNP leaders and activists, including former chief whip Zainul Abedin Farooque, were present at the court during the hearing.
The case was filed against the leaders and activists of BNP on charge of vandalising vehicles and creating panic among people in front of the BNP's central office at Nayapaltan on March 11, 2013.
Mahbubul Hasan, sub-inspector of Paltan Police Station, submitted charge sheet against 148 people on March 24, 2013. The name of another accused, Omar Faruk, was dropped from the charge sheet as he died during the trial proceedings.
