Deposition in Ctg arms haul case resumes

CHITTAGONG, Jan 24 (BSS): A Chittagong court today resumed deposition of prosecution witnesses in the much-talked about 10-truck arms haul case.
Metropolitan Sessions Judge SM Mujibur Rahman began the trial proceedings after a lapse of one and a half month.
The court recorded cross examination of one eyewitness out of 11 who were present before the court .
A total of 11 former senior military and civil officials were present at the court to give their statements while the eleven charge-sheeted accused, including Jama'at Ameer Motiur Rahman Nizami, former state minister for home Lutfozzaman Babar were produced before the court amid tight security.
The court on November 29 last year adjourned the proceedings due to one- month court vacation.
The prosecution witnesses who were produced before the court today are police superintendent Mahmudur Rahman, Dr Shoyeb Ahmed, Major General (retd) Immamuzzaman, Bir Bikram, Major General (retd) Sadek Hasan Rumi, Brigadier General (retd) Enamur Rahman Chowdhury, former Assistant Director of NSI Mohammad Ali Chowdhury, pedestrians Mohammad Lokman and Mohammad Jahangir, constable Kalim Ullah and driver Mohammad Ali.
