Depression
Monday, 14 October 2019
More than six (06) million people in Bangladesh experience depressive disorders and almost seven (07) million have anxiety disorders, according to the World Health Organisation. Alarmingly, four (04) per cent boys and six (06) per cent girls aged between 13 and 17 years attempt suicide, but our society is hardly concerned about mental health services. People do not seek solution to psychological problems. We just cannot understand the value of sound mind, like the importance of healthy body. Poor mental health of a person not only affects his/her family, but also spreads in society. When there is an increasing stress in life, society needs preventive care before mental health turns into a major issue.
