Depression over southwest Bay moves northwest

Tuesday, 30 October 2007

The depression over southwest Bay and adjoining southeast Bay moved northwest and now lies over west central Bay and adjoining southwest Bay at about 6:00 am Monday, reports UNB.
It was centred about 1,545 kilometres southwest of Chittagong port, 1,500 kilometres southwest of Cox's Bazar and 1,370 kilometres of south-southwest of Mongla port.
It is likely to intensify further and move in a west or north-westerly direction, said a special bulletin of Met Office.
Maritime ports of Chittagong, Cox's Bazar and Mongla have been advised to hoist distant cautionary signal number one.
