Deputy secretary obtains PhD

JAHANGIRNAGAR UNIVERSITY, Sept 9: The Jahangirnagar University (JU) awarded Phd degree to Syed Abu Asad for his research on 'Factors affecting the quality of primary education in Bangladesh' at a syndicate meeting presided over by Vice-Chancellor of the university Shariff Enamul Kabir.
Renowned Statistician and former Vice-Chancellor of the varsity Professor Saleh Ahmed was his supervisor.
Abu Asad obtained BSc (Hons) and MSc degree in Statistics from the same university. He also obtained MSc degree in Development and Planning from Bradford University, United Kingdom.
He is now working as a Counterpart Officer (Deputy Secretary) in 'Enterprise Growth and Bank Modernisation Project' (EGBMP) under Finance Division, Ministry of Finance.
He is the youngest son of late Syed Abu Arshad and late Taklima Begum of Tajmahal Road, Muhammadpur, Dhaka.
