Derailment snaps Ctg\\\'s rail link with Dhaka, Sylhet

Train Communications of Chittagong with Dhaka and Sylhet have been suspended as a bogie of a freight train derailed in Sadar upazila in Comilla on Sunday morning. Railway sources said a wagon of Dhaka-bound container train from Chittagong veered off the tracks near Rasulpur Rail Station around 9:30am, halting train services on Chittagong-Dhaka and Chittagong-Sylhet routes. Bangladesh Railway (BR) assistant engineer Irfanul Islam said two trains have left Laksam and Akhaura railway stations around 10am to remove the derailed train. The Dhaka-bound inter-city train from Chittagong, ‘Subarna Express’, has been stranded at Comilla Railway Station due to the accident that left no casualty, according to UNB.
