Detained ex-CBA leader Bakir dies

BM Bakir Hossain, a former chief of Sonali Bank employees union, died of brain haemorrhage in custody Thursday, a prison official said. Hossain passed away in Apollo Hospitals while undergoing treatment, Deputy Inspector General (Prisons) of Police Golam Haider said. He was admitted to Millennium Hospitals on December 22 after a brain stroke. Later, he was transferred to Apollo Hospital as his condition deteriorated.
