Detained Myanmar-flagged boat brought back to Cox\\\'s Bazar

Bangladesh Navy personnel on Tuesday brought back to Cox’s Bazar the Myanmar-flagged trawler (engine-propelled boat), detained in Bangladesh’s territorial waters while heading towards Malaysia with over 600 people on board. Bangladesh Navy ship BNS Durjoy forced the overloaded trawler to stop in deep sea carrying over 600 people who were being trafficked to Malaysia by human traffickers, Lt Commander Mostafa Kamal of Bangladesh Navy's Saint Martin's Forward Base said. He said the trawler was held around 9:30am on Monday from 50 nautical miles off the coast of Saint Martin’s Island of Cox’s Bazar. The Navy men arrested all on board the vessel. Of the arrestees, 14 were crew of the trawler, 20 women and children and 54o males, according to a news agency.
