FE Report
A property developer firm has been accused of trying to grab land issuing death threat to the concerned land owner in the city.
Md Mahbub Hasan, a resident of the city's Kathal Bagan area, filed a general diary (GD) with the Dhanmondi police station seeking his security. He alleged that the officials of Nebedita Properties Ltd (NPL), the proposed developer of his land, issued him death threats.
Mahbub said in his GD that he had signed an agreement with NPL on January 28 last to construct a house on the land owned by his family members. But the firm consecutively failed to comply with their mutual agreement.
The NPL authority gave Mahbub Hasan Tk 5 lakh, a portion of the total signing money making a delay of six months. The NPL MD declined to pay the remaining major portion of the money and threatened to occupy the property after killing the family members of Mahbub.
He said the managing director of NPL threatened on telephone to kill him if Hasan did not hand over his land to the company.
The NPL MD also sent a group of 'terrorists', who threatened to occupy the land and kill the family members of Mahbub Hasan, who was not at home at that time.
Mahbub Hasan filed another GD with the Dhanmondi police station on September 3, as the NPL MD once again threatened to occupy the land within seven days or kill him.
When contacted, NPL MD Aminul Hasan said, "I will pay the rest of the signing money, whenever the land owner hands over the land to NPL".
The NPL MD alleged the land owner has not yet handed over the land to NPL though he (land owner) was due to do it in May. He, however, denied the allegation of issuing any threat to Mahbub Hasan.
