Development Fair begins today to celebrate PKSF\\\'s silver jubilee

A seven-day Development Fair-2014 is set to begin Sunday at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) in the city on the occasion of 25th founding anniversary of Palli Karma -Sahayan Foundation (PKSF) aiming to promote poverty alleviation initiatives to lift millions out of poverty, reports BSS.
During the fair, a total of 14 seminars on poverty alleviations, human dignity and development will be held where ministers, secretaries, economists, researchers, members of civil society and representatives of different non-government organizations are expected to attend.  Development specialists and discussants from India, Vietnam, Uzbekistan and the USA are expected to attend the seminars. Alongside holding seminars, poor people will be given opportunities to display and sale their products at the fair, Managing Director of PKSF Md Abdul Karim told a press conference at the Jatiya Press Club  in the capital city.
PKSF Chairman Qazi Kholiquzzaman Ahmad, Deputy Managing Director (Programme) of PKSF Golam Touhid and Deputy Managing Director(Administration and Finance) Dr Zasim Uddun, among others, were present at the press conference.
In his written speech,  Mr Karim said as many as 125 stalls of 81 organizations including micro-credit, information technology and research institutions will be set up at the fair. The fair will remain open for all from 10 am to 8.30 pm every day, he added.
