Shiree (Stimulating Household Improvements Resulting in Economic Empowerment), a government development programme supported by the Department for International Development (DFID), has shortlisted 15 national and international NGOs from the initial evaluations for proceeding on to the next stage of the Scale Fund evaluation process.

The NGOs are ActionAid Bangladesh, Aid Comilla, CARE Bangladesh, Concern Bangladesh, Dhaka Ahsania Mission, Dustha Shastha Kendra (DSK), Green Hill, Intercooperation, NETZ, Nijera Kori, OXFAM, Practical Action, RDRS, Save the Children UK, and Uttaran.

These 15 NGOs were short-listed from a total of 81 applications received for the next stage, said a press release.

Shiree is specifically seeking to provide substantial grants referred to as the Scale Fund, to those NGOs who had proven experience in the graduation of the extreme poor.
