Dhaka: 2nd worst livable city in Asia

Sunday, 23 March 2014

Dhaka is second in the list of the worst cities of Asia. Thanks to the US unjust invasion of Iraq, Baghdad, which was once one of the best cities of the world, tops of the list. Dhaka regularly comes up into the light whenever such a survey is conducted.
We, the citizens of Dhaka, have some responsibility to improve the pathetic condition of Dhaka and without our help and participation, no government can bring the desired change. We have to admit that Dhaka has a huge population compared to infrastructural facilities.
The importance of Dhaka is growing with each passing day and so is the population. If long-term plans are not taken now, we will find ourselves in a deep trouble in a few years from now. The government should take up pragmatic initiatives to make our city livable. Too many private vehicles and innumerable rickshaws clog the arteries of Dhaka city. It is high time we took the necessary steps and remove the problems to make the city livable.
