Dhaka Art Summit concludes

The 2nd edition of Dhaka Art Summit (DAS) concluded in the city Sunday, ushering in a new era of South Asian contemporary art.
As it was envisaged by the organisers, the three-day art summit at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy from February 7-9 turned into the largest South Asian contemporary art festival in the world, allowing art lovers from allover the globe with a rare opportunity to learn about the vibrant art practices rooted in this region.
The Summit presented 14 solo art projects by internationally acclaimed and established artists from the region, most of which are supported by Samdani Art Foundation.
It stimulated a panoramic survey of artists from South Asian countries, including Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, the Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, according to a news agency.
