Dhaka-Beijing to witness series of high-level visits

Chinese Ambassador in Dhaka Li Jun on Wednesday said Bangladesh and China would witness a series of high-level visits in the coming months showing a ‘good momentum’ in bilateral ties. “In the aspect of political and people to people exchanges, a series of high-level visits are on schedule this year,” he told a country lecture session titled ‘China’s Development and China-Bangladesh Relationship’ in the city. From China’s side, the diplomat said, Vice Chairperson of China’s National Congress and Vice Chairperson of China’s National Military Commission will successively come to Bangladesh early next month. Ambassador Li Jun also said the Vice Minister of China related to Ministry of Water Resources will visit Bangladesh later this year for renewing the agreement of hydrological data and information exchange between the two governments. “We’ll review water resources cooperation between the two countries. The ambassador also informed that Bangladesh President M Abdul Hamid is expected to go to Shanghai end of May to attend the Asia Confidence Building Summit, according to a news agency.
