Dhaka bowl out Chittagong for 200

Holders Dhaka Division made a nice start in the 4th round four-day match of the Ispahani Mirzapore Tea 9th National Cricket League as they bundled out Chittagong Division for 200 in their 1st innings in 82.4 overs on the 1st day at the Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in the city Saturday, reports UNB.
In response, the reigning champions were 17 for none in 5 overs in the 1st innings at stumps on day one, trailing by 183 runs. Opener Anwar Hossain and Javed Omar were batting on 16 and 0 runs respectively.
Earlier choosing to bat first, Chittagong Division failed to make their desired start as they lost the first wicket at 6 when opener Masumuddowla returned to the pavilion scoring only 3.
Then left-handed Tamim Iqbal along with number three Nazimuddin added 42 runs in the 2nd wicket stand before Tamim gave away his wicket to veteran national spinner Mohammad Rafique contributing 38 off 67 balls with six boundaries.
Number four Aftab Ahmed then joined Nazim to consolidate the visitor' s innings but he too lost his wicket early to another spinner Mosharraf Hossain Rubel for 11, leaving the team total at 71 for 3 in 30.1 overs.
Skipper Ehsanul Haque Shezan then came into the crease to join Nazim and they added another valuable 44 runs in the 4th wicket partnership to carry their total to 115 for 4 in 55.2 overs before Nazim was bowled by Mosharraf for 38 facing 151 balls that featured four fours.
After that wicketkeeper Dhiman Ghosh only showed resistance against the hosts attack contributing innings highest 41 off 60 balls decorated with three fours. But the rest of the batsmen Shezan 21, Faisal Hossain 12, Tareq Aziz 13, Saju Datta 5, Kamrul Islam not out 5, Rubel Hossain 2 could not came up with handy totals.
Rubel was the most successful among the Dhaka Division bowlers claiming three wickets for 38 runs in 21 overs while skipper Mohammad Ashraful, pacer Mohammad Sharif and Mohammad Rafique took two wickets each.
