Dhaka calls for end to Israeli atrocities

Bangladesh strongly condemned Friday the Israeli aggression in Gaza and called for an immediate end to its atrocities on the civilian population there, reports UNB.
"Bangladesh calls upon all parties to exercise maximum restraint to avoid further loss of lives, and resume dialogue to revive the peace process at the earliest towards a two-State solution," said a statement issued by the Foreign Ministry. Bangladesh firmly believed that the occupation of Palestinian land must come to an end, and the Palestinians people must have their own independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital, it said.
It also said Bangladesh was deeply shocked at the recent Israeli atrocities and violence perpetrated in Gaza, in particular, air strikes, resulting in loss of civilian lives and heavy damage done to property and posing renewed threat to regional peace and stability.
Bangladesh maintains its principled position on a comprehensive solution of the Palestinian question in accordance with the relevant UN resolutions, the Arab Peace Plan and the Road Map.
