Dhaka-Ctg 4-lane highway to be completed by yr end: Obaidul

The construction of the much-talked about four-lane Dhaka-Chittagong Highway will be completed within the last part of the current year, Communication Minister Obaidul Quader told Parliament on Wednesday. Responding to a supplementary question, he also said that the construction works of the Dhaka-Mymensingh four-lane highway would be completed within the first quarter of the next year. Obaidul Quader said that so far, 66 kilometer carpeting of the 190 kilometer Dhaka-Chittagong four-lane highway has been completed while the earth-filing, the main work of a road, of the 98 per cent portion of the highway has finished, according to a news agency.
