Dhaka-Ctg-Sylhet train services resume

Thursday, 2 October 2014

Chittagong's train communications with capital Dhaka, Sylhet, Feni and Brahmanbaria were restored on Thursday morning, over 4 hours after the rail link was snapped in the routes following derailment of a passenger train. The inter-city ‘Mahanagar Provati’ train derailed in Mirsarai Upazila of Chittagong district in the morning. Five compartments of the Dhaka-bound express train veered off the tracks in Chingki Astana area around 7am, halting movement of trains in the routes for about 4 hours. The train services resumed at 11:00am after the derailed compartments were removed from the railway tracks, according to private TV channels.
