Mirsaria, (Chittagong) Apr 7 (UNB) – A female passenger was killed and 10 people were injured as three compartments of a train derailed at Abunagar in the upazila on Monday.

 

The deceased was identified as Nasima Akther, wife of Nazimuddin of Cox’s Bazar.

 

Officer-in-charge of Mirsarai Police Station Imtiaz MK Bhuiyan said three bogies of Dhaka-bound ‘Karnaphuli Express’ train veered off the tracks in between Mirsarai and Mostannagar railway stations around 12:30pm, leaving  the woman dead on the spot and 10 others injured.

 

The injured were admitted to local clinics.

 

Train services on the busy Dhaka-Chittagong route remained suspended following the accident.
