Dhaka declare first innings

Top order Shamsur Rahman and middle order Nadif Chowdhury scored fifties as hosts Dhaka Division declared their first innings at 251 for 9 in 83.3 overs against Khulna Division on the first day of the 4th round four-day match of the Ispahani Mirzapore Tea 10th National Cricket League Sunday, reports UNB.
Sent in to bat first at the Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium (SBNS) in the city, Dhaka Division lost opener-cum-skipper Javed Omar for 15 with the team total at 27.
Then number three batsman Shamsur Rahman along with Elias Sunny put up an 88-run 2nd wicket stand before Sunny departed for 44 off 110 balls that featured seven fours.
Another three batsmen -- Shamsur Rahman 53, national discard Mahmudullah Riyad 5 and Marshal Ayub 0 -- fell in quick succession to leave the hosts total reeling on 126/5 after 38.5 overs.
Number six Nadif Chowdhury came up with innings highest 54 off 103 balls coloured with three fours and four sixes while Emon Ahmed and Mohammad Azim were at the crease with 5 and 4 runs respectively.
