Dhaka-Delhi trade talks begin

The sixth meeting of the Bangladesh-India Joint Working Group on Trade began at the Udyog Bhaban in New Delhi Thursday, reports BSS.
The two sides held discussions on various aspects of trade between the two countries, said Habibur Rahman, commercial councillor of the Bangladesh High Commission and a member of the Bangladesh delegation.
He said Bangladesh took up the non-tariff and para-tariff barrier issues at the meeting.
He also said the two sides discussed the outstanding issues with open mind and expressed the hope that the existing problems would be resolved through discussions.
The Bangladesh delegation was headed by Dr Mohammad Ruhul Amin Sarker, Joint Secretary of Ministry of Commerce, while Rajiv Kher, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce of India, led the Indian side.
