Dhaka Division were all out for 280 runs in 86 overs in the first innings against holders Rajshahi Division on the first day of the five-day final match of the 12th National Cricket League at the Mirpure Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium Tuesday, reports UNB.
Sent into bat first, Dhaka Division received early blow losing opener Rony Talukder at duck in the very first ball of the match by national pacer Shafiul Islam.
But two mediocre partnerships by one down Anamul Haque with Shamsur Rahman and by Mohammad Ashraful with Mahmudullah Riyad carried the team total to somewhat respectable position.
Anamul Haque pairing with opener Shamsur Rahman contributed 55 runs in the 2nd wicket stand while former national skipper Mohammad Ashraful pairing with national colour Mahmudullah Riyad scored 49 runs in the 5th wicket stand.
Number six batsman Mahmudullah Riyad scored team highest 57 runs off 85 balls with seven boundaries, one down Anamul Haque scored a patient 49 runs off 84 balls with seven fours, opener Shamsur Rahman made 29-ball 19 runs with three fours and Mohammad Ashraful scored 99-ball 40 runs with one boundary.
Later, batting at number seven, Elias Sunny contributed team's 2nd highest 55 runs off 107 balls with six fours while skipper Mohammad Sharif added another useful 22 runs off 40 balls with three fours.
Besides, Mahbubul Alam Robin scored not out 12, Mosharaf Hossain 8 and Shahadat Hossain 7 runs for Dhaka Division.
Farhad Reza and Saklain Sajib claimed three wickets each for 41 and 93 runs respectively while Farhad Hossain took two wickets for 33 runs.
In reply, holders Rajshahi Division opened the first innings in the late afternoon and were 2 for no loss off one over when bails were drawn for the first day (Tuesday) with national colour opener Junaed Siddique and Jahirul Islam batting with one and zero.
