Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is scheduled to visit Malaysia in the 1st week of December. Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak extended an invitation to Hasina during his visit to Dhaka in November last year. A foreign ministry official said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s official visit to Malaysia is likely to take place on December 3-4. The visit is expected to strengthen bilateral ties between the two brotherly nations, he said. Both sides are working on PM Sheikh Hasina’s Malaysia tour. Dhaka and Kuala Lumpur will sign 3 memoranda of understanding (MoUs) on visa exemption for diplomatic and official passport holders, cultural cooperation; and promotion of tourism between the 2 Asian countries. An inter-ministerial meeting was held at the Foreign Ministry with Foreign Secretary M Shahidul Haque in the chair on Sunday. The meeting discussed the various aspects of the visit, and sought inputs from the relevant ministries to set priorities for the visit. Though the priority areas are yet to be finalised, manpower issue might dominate the agenda of the upcoming visit, a highly-placed source at the foreign ministry said, according to a news agency.
