Dhaka-Manchester flights suspended

FE REPORT
Biman Bangladesh Airlines has announced the suspension of its Dhaka-Manchester-Dhaka flights from February 1 this year, citing an aircraft shortage and the need to deploy planes for Hajj operations.
The decision was taken by the airline's board of directors after reviewing several operational considerations, according to a press release issued on Sunday.
"In line with the decision of the board of directors, regular flights on the Dhaka-Manchester-Dhaka route will be temporarily suspended from February 1, 2026, until further notice due to aircraft shortages, upcoming Hajj operations, long-term maintenance requirements for existing aircraft, and the need to ensure optimal fleet utilisation and operational efficiency across the network," it adds.
Biman said passengers affected by the suspension would receive necessary assistance in line with the airline's existing policies. This includes alternative travel arrangements via the Dhaka-London-Dhaka route, changes to travel dates and ticket refunds.
