Dhaka Regency ED elected PATA Board of Directors Member

Shahid Hamid, FIH, Chairman, PATA Bangladesh Chapter and Executive Director, Dhaka Regency Hotel & Resort has been elected as a Member of the PATA Board of Directors for two years in the 63rd PATA Annual General Meeting held on May 18, 2014 at Zhuhai, China. This election is of great importance and prestige for Bangladesh as the country will be able to participate for the first time in the meetings of the PATA Board for the years 2014-2016. PATA is an international Tourism Organization, nonprofit in nature, and is an authority on Travel Tourism in the Asia Pacific Region. Currently this organization consists of 80 sovereign states, governments, city tourism bodies, many international airlines, airports, cruise companies and hundreds of travel industry companies from around Asia Pacific Region and beyond. There are 43 PATA National Chapters around the world including Bangladesh. PATA, as a catalyst International organization, is devoted to promote growth and development of responsible, sustainable and eco-tourism, according to a statement issued by Dhaka Regency Hotel & Resort.
