Dhaka seeks UAE investment in tourism sector

Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister M Faruk Khan on Tuesday sought investment from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the development of Bangladesh's tourism infrastructure as well as construction of hotels and resorts, reports BSS.
"There are opportunities for the UAE to invest in the development of tourism infrastructure and the construction of hotels and resorts," he said at a meeting with UAE Ambassador Abdullah Ali Al Hamoudi at the Secretariat in Dhaka.
The minister also assured the UAE of all kinds of assistance in this regard.
In response, the envoy said his country is keen to provide assistance to Bangladesh in the tourism industry along with increasing the existing cooperation in the aviation sector.
The ambassador also said collaboration in the aviation and tourism industries would further strengthen the friendship between the peoples of the two countries.
The civil aviation and tourism minister said the Bangladesh government has been working sincerely in tourism development by utilising its untapped natural beauty and rich cultural heritage.
Faruk Khan also said that the government had taken various measures to attract foreign tourists.
He expressed the hope that the new area of tourism cooperation along with partnership in the aviation sector will take the Bangladesh-UAE relationship to greater heights.
