The turnover value, however, declined significantly and stood at Tk 3.50 billion, down by 16.46 per cent over the previous session's Tk 4.19 billion. Gainers took strong lead over the losers as out of 252 issues traded, 196 gained, 52 declined and four remained unchanged. A total of 45.81 million shares changed hands on the day against 58.37 million in the previous session. The trade deals also declined to 94,993 against Monday's 115,498. Total market capitalisation of the DSE, however, advanced to Tk 2, 7238.48 billion against Tk 2,681.01 billion in the previous session. Banking issues, which make up one-third of the DSE market capitalisation, returned to gaining streak, adding 1.87 per cent on the day. Among the 30 listed banks in the DSE, 28 gained, only one declined and one remained unchanged.
