FE Report
Dhaka stocks dropped slightly amid volatility Monday, led by heavyweight Grameenphone (GP) that slipped more than three per cent.
The market was in the positive territory in almost all the sessions, but profit taking in the final minutes on insurances, financial institutions and energy issues pushed the market to end lower.
The benchmark DSE General Index (DGEN) crossed 8000-mark in the morning, but failed to sustain for the third session in a row. At the end of the day, it dropped slightly by 14.66 points or 0.18 per cent to 7974.04, scaling down from the previous session's all time high of 7988.71.
The broader All Shares Price Index (DSI) lost 0.21 per cent or 14.60 points to 6626.86. The DSE-20 Index comprising blue chips gained 0.64 per cent or 30.46 points to 4760.23.
