Dhaka Test win a 'special' one: Shakib

Before the second Test of the two-match series against West Indies in Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, Bangladesh played 111 Tests but never managed to impose a follow-on, reports UNB.
But this time, the Tigers wrote a new chapter of their own history, they finally managed to impose a follow-on which was an inevitable pain that Bangladesh went through many times during their early days in Test cricket.
Shakib Al Hasan, the Bangladesh Test captain, did not think any word but 'special' to rate their biggest-ever Test win.
The man of the series and Bangladesh captain in the post-match press meet said, "Look, we have been playing Test cricket for 18 years, we have completed more than a hundred Tests. But, we did it (imposing a follow-on) for the first time. It is nothing but a special (win for us)."
"We have never been able to enforce a follow-on despite playing many Tests against the weak teams. So, I think it is a big achievement for us, and we never whitewashed a big team in the home condition," Shakib further added.
"Most players of this series were in the team during the last West Indies tour, and the results were not expected to us. We have talked about the losses, and we bounced back strongly in the limited-overs series, after the success in the limited-overs matches in the last series, we wanted to do something remarkable in Tests in our home.
We were keen to make the people confess that we can make the most our home advantage, and eventually, we did it," Shakib further said.
Shakib Al Hasan did not miss the chance to applaud his spin arsenal during the post-match. "Miraz bowled very well today (Sunday). I think if he stays simple on his plans, he can do more damages to the opponents. Taijul did well too. He performed exceptionally well throughout the year. I believe that if we can deliver this brand of performance consistently, we will do better in the international arena," Shakib Al Hasan added.
