Dhaka Division stayed on the top of the NCL T20 point table after securing a 28-run win over Rajshahi Division at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium in Sylhet on Tuesday, reports BSS.
Their unbeaten run seemed to have ended when they posted 150-9 after electing to bat first.
But the bowlers bowled exceptionally well to script their third straight victory, having restricted Rajshahi for 122-9 with Nazmul Islam returning envious figure 4-1-10-3. Pacer Sumon Khan ended with 2-21 to further jolt Rajshahi which never looked like a team to chase down 151 runs. SM Meherob was the top-scorer for Rajshahi with 31.
The defeat put Rajshahi in seventh spot in the eight-team tournament.
Meanwhile, youngster Aich Mollah hit a fifty on his T20 debut as Dhaka Metro registered its second victory in the NCL T20, having thrashed Sylhet Division by 23 runs at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium in Sylhet on Tuesday.
Mollah smashed a 33 ball-53 not out with six fours and two sixes as Metro put on a respectable 161-3, a total that their bowlers defended with ease by restricting Sylhet to 138-9.
Mollah and Shadman Islam's 96-run for the third wicket was key in setting a good total for Metro.
