Dhaka to go to international arbitration for due water share
Monday, 25 August 2014
Water Resources Minister Barrister Anisul Islam Mahmud on Monday said the government will go to the international arbitration if it fails to realise the fair share of water from common rivers through talks with neighbouring countries. “We want equity share of water from all the common rivers, including the Teesta. But before that we want to resolve the water problem through mutual discussions with India. If we fail to get the fair share through talks, we’ll go to the arbitration,” he told a seminar in the evening, according to a news agency.
