Dhaka Tourism Fair kicks off tomorrow

The third Dhaka Tourism Fair 2009 will kick off at city's Shilpakala Academy Plaza tomorrow (Wednesday).
Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister GM Kader is expected to inaugurate the fair at 12:00 noon as chief guest.
The three-day fair will be organised by Parjatan Bichitra in association with Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation, Association of Travel Agents of Bangladesh (ATAB), Tour Operator Association of Bangladesh (TOAB), Tourism Industries Association of Bangladesh (TIAB) and Tourism Developer's Association of Bangladesh.
"Without development of internal tourism it is impossible for a country to step up sustainable growth in this sector. So we have to improve the infrastructure and services of tourists spot in accordance with the demand of local tourists" Chief co-coordinator and editor of Parjatan Bichitra Mohiuddin Helal said while addressing at a press conference at national press club in the city.
A total of 75 stalls along with three local airlines, 17 hotels and resorts, 32 tour operators and travel agents, five adventure clubs, four tourism institutes and 14 government and private agencies.
The fair will remain open from 12:00 noon to 7:00 pm on the first day. The rest of the days it will be open from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm.
The entry fee is Tk 20 for each person. The fair entry ticket holder will get 50 per cent discount in entry fee of Fantasy Kingdom while Tk 50 discount in Water Kingdom entry fee. Besides many other lucrative offers, tour discussion, photo exhibition and documentation show will be there in the fair.
Among others Tourism Developer's Association of Bangladesh (TDAB) chairman M Zamiul Ahmed, Tourism Industries Association of Bangladesh (TIAB) president Khabir Uddin Ahmed, General manager of Hotel Washington Shaikh Sayeed Hossain spoke at the press conference.
