Dhaka University Day being observed

The Dhaka University turned 93 on Tuesday (July 1). The day is being observed today on the campus with great enthusiasm and festivity, marking the 93rd founding anniversary of the university, once termed the Oxford of the East. The theme of this year’s day is ‘Higher education for economic development and social justice’. The university authorities completed all preparations last month to smoothly observe the day on July 1. Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury inaugurated the daylong programme in the morning, according to a news agency.
