Dhaka WASA executive engr suspended for neglect of duty

An Executive Engineer of Dhaka Water Supply and Sewerage Authority (WASA) was suspended for negligence of duty, reports UNB. During a visit State Minister for LGRD and Co-operatives Jahangir Kabir Nanak found logged water on road at Mouchak crossing due to problem in drainage system. He instantly gave directive to the WASA engineer and officials concerned for clearing the water. The Minister then ordered Deputy Managing Director (DMD) of WASA Dr Liakat Ali to immediately suspend Executive Engineer of Drainage Department (O & M) Md Nurul Islam. Nanak also warned of taking stern action against WASA officials who are responsible for causing public sufferings.
