Dhaka\\\'s rail link with N-region restored

Dhaka's rail communications with northern region and western parts of the country resumed after six hours as a bogie of a freight train derailed near Panchbibi Rail Station in Joypurhat district on Wednesday. Panchbibi rail station master Santosh Kumar Sarker the rail communication was restored around 4:00pm on Wednesday as a salvage train conducted the restoring work for four hours. Earlier, a wagon of the Khulna-bound freight train from Syedpur veered off the tracks in Panchbibi around 10:00am, halting train services on Syedpur-Rajshahi, Syedpur-Khulna and Syedpur-Dhaka routes. Meanwhile, a four-member probe committee, led by Paksey divisional transport officer Shawkat Jamil, was formed to investigate the incident. Railway authorities asked the committee to submit the probe report within three days, according to a news agency.
