Diarrhoea claims one life

CHAPAINAWABGANJ, Oct 8 (UNB): Diarrhoea that broke out in an alarming proportion in the district claimed life of a youth and affected over 150 people in last three days until Sunday.
Sources said many diarrhoea-affected people rushed to Sadar hospital for treatment during the period and many patients took treatment at the veranda of the hospital due to shortage of bed.
Civil Surgeon office said diarrhoea has mainly broken out in Sadar and Bholahat Upazilas of the district.
Acting Civil Surgeon Rabiul Alam admitted that diarrhoea affected Shahabul had died in Sadar hospital Friday. A diarrhoea cell would be opened soon in the hospital on an emergency basis, he said adding that steps had been taken to combat the spread of the waterborne disease.
