Diganta Media chairman indicted in tax evasion case

A metropolitan court today indicted Mir Kashem Ali, chairman of Diganta Media, in a tax evasion case.Mir Kashem pleaded not guilty as special sessions judge Zahirul Haque read out the charge against him. The court fixed April 10 for beginning of trial. NBR filed the case on 16 September last year accusing Mir Kashem of evading tax of Tk 27.85 lakh in 2006-7 financial year. -- UNB
