Digital Bangladesh aims to facilitate people's communication activities through email or cell phones. Internet, which is a global system of interconnected computer networks, is designed to make faster communication and receive any information instantly from hypertext documents of the World Wide Web (www). Before using the internet, people must have some knowledge in English, on computer operating system or cell phones and ability to get access to the Internet. People use information and communications technology to enrich their lives and realise their social, cultural and economic ambitions.
Government investment in the Internet will make it easier for citizens, business and other groups to interact, and increase the effectiveness and efficiency of their activities.
Through e-government and the redesign of government services, people's engagement with the government will be boosted through increased and innovative use of network technologies. The government will provide secure, personalised interaction between government and individuals, and open up authoritative data sources for others to use, while protecting privacy and the security of information. The impact of technology is most clearly seen when it becomes integrated into everyday practices and enables previously difficult tasks to be completed with ease.
In health, 'being smarter through digital' means improving the quality and flow of information. People's health information will be available to them. This will improve the quality of decision-making not only by health centres, financiers and policy-makers, but also by individuals, who will be able to access their personal health information.
In education, the vision for the future is one of networks, connectivity and community. High-quality information will be stored digitally and shared safely and securely across the sector, giving academics and learners better access to digital content, resources and services.
The internet and digital technologies make it possible for artists and researchers alike to operate from Bangladesh while working with collaborators based overseas. Students' goals are at the centre of e-learning networks where students, their families and teachers develop a customised learning programme that reflects the students' passions, interests and aptitudes. So Internet connections for students is an essential first step towards a digital Bangladesh.
