FE REPORT | Tuesday, 30 December 2025

The three-day Digital Device and Innovation Expo 2026 will be held at Bangabandhu Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre (BCFCC) in Dhaka on January 29-31, aiming to highlight Bangladesh's growing technological capabilities, innovation ecosystem and investment potential.
Organised under the theme "Bangladesh to the World", the exhibition is jointly hosted by the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Division, Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority, and the Bangladesh Computer Samity (BCS).
The announcement was made at a press conference held at the Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) auditorium on Monday.
Speaking at the press briefing, ICT Secretary Shish Haider Chowdhury said that public interest in digital devices is steadily increasing, similar to trends in developed nations.
"This growing interest is a positive sign for technological advancement. Digital transformation is an ongoing process, and Bangladesh has already made notable progress," he said.
He added that under the leadership of Faiz Ahmed Taiyeb, Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser for the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, the country's digital transformation agenda is being advanced through a range of strategic initiatives.
The digital expo will serve as a major platform for showcasing cutting-edge technologies, innovative ideas and research from industries, universities and startups. It will feature exhibitions of ICT products and services, student innovations, and thematic discussions covering digital devices, communication systems, programming, and emerging technologies.
The Secretary General of the Bangladesh Computer Samity, Mohammad Monirul Islam, said organisers are expecting around 300,000 visitors over the three days.
Spread across nearly 6,500 square metres, the exhibition is being held in multiple halls, including Hall of Fame, Celebrity, Harmony, Carnival, Milky Way, Media Bazaar and Windy Town. It is divided into several thematic zones such as Local Manufacturers, Product Showcase, Innovation, Meet with International Manufacturers, Digital Lifestyle, Mega Sales, Seminars, and B2B Matchmaking.
The organisers also unveiled the official logo of Digital Device and Innovation Expo 2026, featuring a clenched fist symbolising "People's Power" -- a representation of collective strength, confidence and innovation.
Alongside exhibitions, the event features seminars, panel discussions and policy dialogues.
The expo is jointly supported by a2i, the Department of ICT, National Cyber Security Agency (NCSA), Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC), Startup Bangladesh Limited, and the Controller of Certifying Authorities (CCA). Supporting partners include BASIS, BACCO, ISPAB, e-CAB, Bangladesh ICT Journalists Forum (BIJF) and the Technology Media Guild Bangladesh (TMGB).
